Love Handmade Markets were placed on hold in March 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have been delivering online experiences to keep you informed and connected with our creative community.
We were the first in Australia to put together an ONLINE MARKET EDITION where we introduced Love Eco Markets to the family. We hope you enjoyed delving in, slowing down and learning more about the love makers behind our stalls. By clicking through photos of our Brisbane stallholders, we created an experience as close as we could to strolling through one of our markets, except of course this time, you were scrolling! The unexpected and lovely side to this, was the ability to join in the virtual experience, literally, from anywhere in the world. We highlighted the green making scene and what Brisbane eco-designers are up to. Inspired by the stories of upcycling, repurposing and recycling we loved the behind the scenes stories we were able to share from our green makers and innovators. So here we are, it's July 2020 and as restrictions ease in Queensland, we are making plans to see you again. This is exciting news! We have missed coming together and sharing our handmade designs with our handmade loving family. In the next week we will announce two exciting collaborations in more detail. FOR NOW, PLEASE SAVE THE DATES! Saturday 25 July 2020 7am-12pm Sunday 30 August 2020 9am-1pm Happy making and loving handmade Janmaree Lowe We love supporting local makers and artists! Live music by Jack Sweeney and Laura Louise. Foodies included Greens on Grains and London Spuds along with Berry Good Jam & Chutney and Sera's Artisan Pantry. The joy scale was high as visitors connected and reconnected. The hugs flew thick and fast! Fur babies enjoyed the handmade festivities wagging their tails away. Handmade Samford has become a part of the fabric of Samford. A meeting place to charge the creative soul, be inspired, support makers and enjoy a beautiful respite from fast paced living. The popularity of the market has exploded and has become quite famous, we are truly humbled how much you appreciate what we do. The weather played fair and we had a good run until 2.00pm. A quick storm to keep us on our toes - of course! It was almost a perfect day. It wouldn't be Samford without some challenges with the weather. We have experienced sweltering heat in the middle of winter, rainy-all-day kind of weather and torrential storms. Thank you for being a part of Handmade Samford Mother's Day Market. If you couldn't be there I hope you enjoy these photographs. As I say, every market is different, it's never a repeat show and always worth popping in so you don't miss these moments. It was a pleasure to host so many beautiful makers, welcome our visitors and observe the many interactions. It was up there with one of the prettiest markets I have curated. The flow of the layout worked well and gave more space to meander and enjoy our Handmade Samford market. There will be new stalls on their way to you soon and your favourites will be back at Handmade Samford Winter Market Saturday 20 July 2019 9.00am to 2.00pm - SAVE THE DATE! Some new tunes and food to discover too. Keep an eye on our socials @handmadesamford + @lovehandmademarkets to follow Love Handmade news. Happy making and loving handmade xx Janmaree Thank you
x ROSE ALEXANDER x for sharing your beautiful photography skills with us, capturing these handmade loving moments. x RELAUNCH SUCCESS x Such an exciting day was Saturday 21 July 2018 relaunching Handmade Redcliffe Boutique Market! Councillor Koliana Winchester opened our new location and also worked closely with Market Curator, Janmaree Lowe to find our new home! We thank Humpybong State School for approving us to operate on the back oval overlooking beautiful Margate Beach next to the new community playground. The day was a wonderful success and took us back to our launch day back in 2013 yet also showed us how much we have grown up and into our vision! Back then makers didn't have the resources or know how to trade outside and now they can! Our all white marquee vision is well underway and really makes the market pop. More importantly a home for makers has been established and we are just so proud to bring these beautiful markets and our community together. The day was magic and will linger in our hearts for sometime. We will be hosting Handmade Redcliffe Margate Beach Boutique Market regularly on Humpbong Oval ~ watch our events page for new dates. x THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING LOVE HANDMADE MARKETS & GROWING WITH US x Here are some memories to remember the day taken by

Today I shared my love of kokedama making with a group of 19 at the Caboolture Hub. Everyone succeeded and made a Christmas inspired kokedama. With hanging and sitting versions ready for their new homes in bathrooms, kitchens, outside and Christmas gifting. I love that a kokedama can be as happy inside as outside and the different decorative touches you can add to make it your own. Today I chose to bring along some coconut fibre as an alternative to regular spagnum moss for the outside of the kokedamas. Offering different ribbon choices so participants could add their own seasonal touch. The plants I chose had a festive feel too. Here is my soil recipe: 1/4 peat moss 3/4 good quality potting mix Add a good amount of water to create an almost mud pie consistency Thank you Moreton Bay Regional Council for inviting me to host this hands on workshop as part of the Cultivate the Arts program launched earlier this year. See the making we did below! xx Janmaree Workshop designed and facilitated by Janmaree Lowe
