This Saturday we will be rolling up our sleeves and rolling out a {VERY SPECIAL} community project just in time for our 2015 {SPRING MARKET} called {THE COMMUNAL TABLE} ~ a place in our market to sell homegrown fare. At the next Handmade Redcliffe market there will be the opportunity to bring your homegrown herbs, flowers, vegetables, fruits plus eggs and honey to sell at the market for free. We're putting the call out to locals who have an abundance of local produce they have grown to come and set up shop for the day. To apply to be a part of the Communal Table, email us. "I am noticing more and more that families are growing their own homegrown fare and are sometimes left with more to share. I wanted to see if there is a need for this and thought we would create an opportunity in the market. This year my neighbour's passionfruit vine crept into my garden. It was one of the most glorious things. So much fruit for just one family, so this got me thinking", Market Curator, Janmaree Lowe said. ![]() I am putting the call out to you first. Do you have any excess homegrown produce or eggs or honey you would like to bring to this Saturday's market to sell? Perhaps you have a neighbour who has fruit trees? I have a handful of half spots {half of a trestle table} that I am providing to the community complimentary to see if there is a need for this. Table and shelter provided. The participating stallholder simply needs to bring in their garden fare, set the prices and stay to sell. You may also wish to donate excess garden fare to the market. Monies raised will be put towards our 'support an artist' program. "We are looking forward to bringing our makers together in 'their own backyard' with garden fare stalls this Saturday 3 October 2015, 9.00am to 3.00pm at Reid's Place, Scarborough" {see details below}. Handmade Redcliffe was born out of a need to provide a home to our local makers to showcase high quality and on trend works. After waiting for many years for someone to create this opportunity we took the first steps to initiate this for our community. We are well into the journey now {threes years on}. I am excited to extend this mission to those with an abundance of homegrown garden fare to also set up shop! This Saturday you will also find {FREE CREATIVE WORKSHOPS} across the day. We love the {JOY MAKING BRINGS YOU}. It's also a neat way to thank our customers that frequent the markets by passing on our skills. With Christmas approaching, it's a sneaky way to start preparing some handmade gifts on us. We will have fresh flower and herb posies for sale on the {COMMUNAL TABLE} to kickstart this new community project. Plus eggs, rosemary and lavender. {MORE COMING IN AS I TYPE}. Spring is when everything comes to life and a resurgence in life and energy is seen. Such a perfect time for this celebration of our local gardeners and makers. What better setting could we ask for than Beth Reid's florally gardens. {HELLO SPRING} xx Janmaree For the full creative workshop program
