Kokonut NQ was born out of our love for coconuts and the shells left behind after the flesh is used. Rather than simply discarding them we found ways to use them to create our unique range. Carving them to make candleholders, bowls and Weefolk homes (for homeless Weefolk).
With our love of the outdoors, especially waterways and beaches, we often collect driftwood, seeds and items thrown away or washed up on a beach or riverbank. Together with the coconut shells, we fashion all our gathered items and create unique pieces of art, home decor and musical instruments. Friends and people we meet on our travels contribute to our ever growing collection of building materials - our treasures.
Gathering our materials has taken us on some wonderful adventures and introduced us to so many incredible people. Kayaking to the upper reaches of tropical rivers, picking coconuts to carve the shells into candleholders. Visiting native plant farms in Victoria to find unique seeds from eucalyptus and mallee trees for the Weefolk homes. Tramping through long grass in a friend's lower paddock to saw timber from a fallen tree. Each story makes every item special and unique. - Christine & Craig Stewart
