Love Eco Markets brings together eco-designers, green innovators and eco-conscious makers to inspire sustainable living. Known locally for supporting handmade and slow fashion, Love Handmade Markets introduces sister market, Love Eco Markets. Exploring eco practices, the market will investigate how things are made and go on a mission to make reusing and repurposing the norm again. Be introduced to Brisbane's greenest makers. Created by Janmaree Lowe to inspire green thinking in both the making and buying phases and showcase what is happening in the green made space.

"I see a world where we source what we need from local makers, producers and creatives, improving the environment we live in for our own wellbeing, future generations and ecosystems - a return to Australian made".
- Janmaree Lowe

What makes a product eco?

The materials it contains: recycled materials or recyclable materials or materials gathered from a natural source.

The way it's produced: considering the production process from start to finish. For example, using materials that are produced locally to handcraft an item like a wool jumper made with Australian wool. Utilising renewable energy in the making process like solar or water.

Made in Australia: local products produced and processed in Australia with a sustainable approach that form part of the slow fashion movement. Buy once, buy for life!

Minimal or zero packaging: commitment to using packaging that has been recycled, made from natural material or bare.

The manner it's used: Products that encourage eco-conscious behaviors.

‍ From the producer: Straight from the farmer, mostly from small scale family farms.

Low waste: products that cut waste or encourage a zero waste lifestyle.
